Purpose

movement-on-wheels

I took this photo some time ago and it puts me in an uncomfortable place. It forces me to think about my purpose in life. I’d like to share two quotes.

“The two most important days in your life are the day you were born, and the day you find out why.” – Mark Twain

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” – Pablo Picasso

What’s your purpose?

  1. I struggle about purpose and meaning ascribed to life…are they just conceptions designed to rise us above other sentient beings or outcroppings of consciousness????

    1. Hi Brenda. Thank you so much for visiting. As for your question, I feel that we should seek our own purposes. I attribute much of my purpose to faith. I struggle just like you, and the concept of establishing a relationship with a far greater being anchors me. I hope you will find your purpose.

      1. LeSLiE…your question has walked beside me for much of the day and I have come to a place where I think purpose and meaning must have roots in our capacity for empathy…where we take the well-being of all sentient beings to heart and are moved to be generous and caring and from that grounding enter into a dynamic, fluid world, which challenges to act and act again with ethical integrity. I’m sure this questioning with be with me for a bit…thank you for this opportunity to explore “purpose.”
